After Victor's flashback, we probably get another one for Allen and Rick before the final chapter

Oh... A flashback. A completely useless flashback. I don't care about the hero party, the characters dying, I barely care about the mad scientist MC.

But hey, knock yourself out author. I'm sure there are readers enjoying it, I'm just waiting until we get past this story and back to some lair building.

The only one I care about is Mary. Maybe Cruz but really the only thing that separates her from Allen is her devotion to Rick. Rick started out OK but either was turned into a psychopath by his transformation into a DM or was just a hidden one from the start (if Allen's flashback narration can be believed).

With the short run on this one that flashback may have been retconning so that the killing of the Hero's Party could be quickly concluded. Rick's mercy towards Mary seems to be at odds with him being evil from the beginning and more in line with a fall into corruption. If he truly wanted all of the party members dead then she would have been a spot on the floor and then Dungeon Points.
