The "lore" here is total garbage.

• Old dude basically, "Shit is totally upredictable." Okay, then... then there's no theory. The only "research" is randomly throwing stuff together to find which combinations work.
• Old dude somehow knows about Rick's ability to synthesize monsters. How? Answer: There's no rational reason, the author is just bringing him in to add some visual variety to this (garbage) lore dump.
• Old dude: Rick's ability to synthesize high level monster is like being a demon king! ... Author desperately lore dumping author's intent to make Rick the demon king. Combine with a picture of weak Rick suddenly drawn to make him look bad ass.
