I'm still wary of Hero's expressions when it comes to Ed. His suspicions are reasonable, just to make things clear, since Ed is just that overpowered and he hides the fact that he "already knew them".

Will that lead to Ed being kicked out? Does that mean he also doubts Tia now? At the very least, he's suspicious of Ed's origins and motivations for working this hard for the party.

I started reading the WN a while ago and while it wasn't awful I also wasn't super invested, but the manga industry is cool in how they can take a fairly rough work with a good concept and then refine it in the WN -> LN -> manga -> anime pipeline and sometimes something really great pops out the other end.

To add Pilomotor's comment: Web Novel can be considered as the "raw", amateur-ish writing of the story. Hence you often find them free for reading; the author wanted to get their story out there.

Light Novel is when a publishing company gets involved, with proper editorial process and all that. Intended fully for commercial purposes. And before you ask, no, there is no Heavy Novel.
