The first I don’t know, six chapters are setup. They aren’t a trick, they aren’t bad storytelling, they’re just introducing the characters and setting up the flow of how the story will go. I think it’s fair to judge the entire story based off these opening chapters, but your perception of the overall plot will likely be a bit off base as the “adventure” has not yet truly started.
With that said, I strongly recommend this manga. The art is phenomenal and the characters feel very human. I can get a feel for who they are through their words and actions; the hero Alexis for example, repairs a chair and building he had damaged while fighting. We readers notice the many times when heroes make a mess and immediately move on, we may not like it, but we move on to keep enjoying the story. Small details like that make me so happy, you can feel the love the artists and author has put in, and the humanity of the character.
I think by chapter 18 or so the true form the story will take in the future is revealed. If you come expecting an isekai, I frankly think this story isn’t one. It’s more like dimension hopping?
In terms of the power scaling, mc is definitely overpowered. However, that’s not really the point; he is the main character in our eyes, but in the worlds he goes to, he is never the hero. His expansive repertoire of skills allow him to perfectly assist the hero, but the author is careful to not let him overstep and completely dominate the narrative. There is a good balance between the presence of all characters.
Once again, strongly recommend y’all check this out.

I love how Tia becomes a permanent companion of Ed. I think that when authors right these types of stories, where characters jump through worlds, the stories become self contained. Tia and Ed’s relationship allows two separate perspectives on each world and also brings a bit of continuity as there are still familiar characters in each world, as opposed to an isolated mc.
Once again, strongly recommend y’all check this out.
