The Knight Commander is the one that is trying to overthrow the royalty with Isabella, but I want the plot twist to be that he used himself as bait to collect any nobles that were planning to usurp the throne while the King was ill.

That or he throws Isabella under the proverbial bus when the King shows up all healthy from the "magical" porridge that he ate earlier.

So you had these knights who didnt want to do what they personally found questionable, now aligning with another higher ranking political figure that just says 'idk so lets not do anything' and vibing comoletely because now they dont have to think about doing what they found morally questionable.

I think I hate this conclusion more than anything else in this arc. Especially cause of how they posture this as the best answer. Tf you mean not picking a side is a good choice both in universe and meta-narrative wise, y'all just moved back to 0 and acting like it went forward cause denny's isnt crucified.

It's not really a conclusion, and the previous chapter said that attacking citizens break the law as the soldier's first excuse to stop.

The first thing a soldier said to stop is also, "let's wait for commander's suggestion", since she's just a substitute
