For whatever reason I just figured her "sleep magic" only worked on the Prince at night time. It happening out of simple physical contact has the potential for both hilarious and disastrous results though, so I'm personally in favor of this turn of events.

The new recruits in Ciel & Leona should round out the cast a bit and add a lot of comedy (Leona especially - the fang, the $100% On energy, great design all around). Selene getting a guard specifically tells me that this place isn't all perfectly safe and sound, but it also appears that she'll be allowed to leave the palace / estate in the near future, so Leona can strut her stuff and show off more than her disaster side.
(I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Leona & Ciel are destined to pair up in the future, since the author's previous work had multiple relationships develop by the end. A bit of a meta call, but their dynamic already tells me they very "oil and water", and that makes for romance fireworks in my experience.)

Selene has a goal now as well, so that's a fun development. Sure, it's ....unique I guess, but gods forbid a girl has a hobby.

Can't wait for more. Again, thank you for picking this series up with some quality TL work.

i can't speak a lick of japanese but I've been reading the french version (yay being fluent in it) so maybe i could help by translating that (if needs be) and judging the pace of the french scanlators might release ch.20 soon

Thanks for the TL. I got a bit confused at the mention of 'becoming fireflies' out of nowhere until I went digging into japanese idioms (essentially growing / improving yourself).

Also, quick note, I think the subject on 17.2 is a bit messed up, from context it sounds like Ciel is telling Leona 'you haven't grasped what it means to be a knight' rather than 'I haven't grasped'
