The Club President was coming to hate and despise her, for he thought she was one of those for whom things came easily, who waltzed in and moved to prominence without actual merit.
He had no natural talent himself, and had worked hard and long to attain his level of skill.

She had to work and work and work, driving everything into muscle memory, for she wouldn't remember any changes consciously, it had to become a pattern her body did automatically.

To have the level of skill that she had, she'd been working on this for most of her life, alone, without anyone to dance with, working from video and whatever her mother and Madoka showed her.
And, that as she'd never danced with anyone else before, her styling was somewhat different, and she had to drive the changes to match their styling into muscle memory in a very short period of time.
So...
Learning that, he changed from being overtly hostile to being supportive.
I can understand where he was coming from in his initial reaction, and can sympathize with him.
That doesn't change the fact that he was being a d*ck.
I'm glad he learned that he was mistaken before he did any further damage to her self-esteem.
