Shidou wakes up from a dream that feels like a bad joke. She’s relieved it was just a dream, but she can’t shake off the unease. She goes downstairs to get some water and, when opening the fridge, she finds a head inside. Realizing it’s a dream, she wakes up again, only to find the fridge completely normal. But, when she looks into the other room, she notices a strange object lying in the middle of the floor. Once again, she realizes it’s a dream and wakes up.

This cycle repeats several times until she finally wakes up in the morning. Shidou reflects that the key to escaping these nightmares is identifying what’s out of place. She believe reality is always orderly and predictable. In the end, the story shifts to a conversation where people are gathering because a body was found in the trash.
