@Tamerlane I think it's more than that. If she doesn't marry him, she runs the risk of getting killed by him. It's like that saying goes "Keep your friends close and enemies closer".

Well, now I want to know more about his brand and why it's connected at consuming other's fate.

if she isn't close to him, he will kill her in cold blood,
but when she's near him, she does not see her death,
doesn't that mean they're fated to be together else he will kill her?

Does that mean, that she can devise how to act the previous night, and if she sees her death by his hands, she messed something up and became his enemy, then she has to change the plans?

@Milanin From the look of things, she can't devise anything else to prevent it. An example is the first chapter, she tried everything to prevent her from meeting him on the battlefield but it still happened. Also, she only sees a few seconds of her death from his hand so she doesn't have enough info to go with to prevent it from actually happening. The only thing she knows about is the death of his mother which he keeps yammering about every time in her visions.

I suspect the brand on him is doing something in the vision. We need more info about that brand.

@nomadicengi Well, she tried to devise a way to prevent their meeting, but for a fated person, that's against fate, which is why in her fate she saw herself dying.
That's probably why, when they met, she wasn't killed but calmed his heart instead and lived on, since he had no reason (his brand calmed down because she was his fated person, confusing him when it stopped by focusing his mind on why it stopped and in such calming him) to kill her.

@Milanin The brand is said to eat the fate of anybody close to Chris. In some sense, it's able to destroy fate. The fate of which is were she was to die by his hands. But this is just my speculations, we need more info on the brand to determine what it really is.
