The premise not mentioning Sasaki Kojiro at all is wild.
Except at this point in the novel the spirit doesn't even know his name. MC just assumes he is Sasaki Kojiro, the samurai from the Edo period and rival of Miyamoto Musashi, so the spirit rolls with it. Again, they will discuss this in the next chapter.

Interesting, though I have to say I am not a huge fan of the 'alter egos taking over' thing which kinda trivializes the main ego's existence down to just a comedic relief. It almost leaves little room for the main character's development or it makes their development a snail's pace and usually this will make it happen only just before this manga gets axed. But we'll see how long this manga goes; so far it doesn't give me too much hope due to it's mediocre level of production so far (e.g. the manga doesn't even bother to put background art)
Then you have never read a good alter ego story because you don't know what you're talking about also the best ways to wrap up an alter ego story is for the either the personalities to merge or for the original personality absorb the foreign one completely which is essentially similar to the first option but differing in that instead of becoming a brand new person the original just becomes more wiser

Any enthusiasm I had for this story is severely dampened after this chapter. An insta-win alter ego? That's even worse than winning by some absurd luck played off as comedy. These slop writers just can't write a good fight scene or have the MC go through steady progression to save their lives.

Oh cool the MC himself doesn't actually progress as a fighter on his own and (I'm assuming) gets hard carried (at least for a bit) by some other worldly guide. That's great. Doesn't undercut the character development potential at all. :aquadrink:

I'm hoping I'm wrong and the next chapter proves my drunk assumptions otherwise because that was a disappointment.

Yes it is an actual name but it is better to either use Arka or Aruka, Arca is a more Latin/Spanish/Italian based word and somebody already said on the previous chapter that it means "box, chest or ark" and I don't really see how it fits her, on the other hand, Arka means "sun, ray or flash of light" which will fit her better and is closer to Aruka than Arca. And besides, I like Aruka better :haa:
ultimately you're translating it and i'm reading it for free, so you're the boss, but that's still such a dumb reason. it's a westernized medieval fantasy setting, so I'm 99% sure it's supposed to be arca. as for the meaning, i can guarantee you the author didn't think about the spanish meaning of the name. arca vs arka when translated from katakana are completely identical since the character represents a syllable and not an actual romanic alphabet letter. ultimately because of how japanese works アルカ could be aruka, aruca, arca, arka, arcah, hell even arqa. but judging by the context of the series it is my assumption that it's supposed to be arca. guess we won't know until the author/artist puts out art with her name in the roman alphabet.
