Yeah, he wasn't an idiot who are oblivious to everything. He's not some generic shounen mc who needs someone smart to figure out that something is up. He may not be the smartest but he was no fool.

Agreed. His only weakness was women, and even then he’s grown out of that incredibly cringe worthy phase.
