Evangeline's turnaround has proper context and was given plenty of explanation (her passive immunity to movement-binding stuff was already established), while Lucas' seems like a bit of an asspull in comparison. A hidden trait thats 'forbidden to all players'?

I'm guessing maybe it was the nuclear option in the 'game' that came with severe consequences since Lucas is your player character.
