"Trust the process.(Tm)" or "Journey over destination." is not something you say to someone who have a short(er) career, want to prove themselves, and just lost cause it sounds more like banter than encouragement.

Judging by the overall edgy tone of the manga, the author himself is in the rebellion phase...and I like it.

Why is everyone going tough this arc my god i don't know who to root for
because everything was tough IRL too :dogkek:

You'll like the following arcs then :dogkek:

man whats the backstory of these 2 again?
I feel like the daughter has some sort of misunderstanding
Misunderstanding on her part and total fatherly incompetence on Papa Nase's part. Both at fault.

Guy wants to be close with his daughter but socially inept on how to do it. He's freaking good at being a trainer though as shown with Bamboo Memory.

Fumino-chan then interprets everything he has done as total dismissal of her efforts and accomplishments, which is true for the majority of it, and being the accomplished trainer her father is, she lives under his shadow which she takes as an insult very hard.

BTW guys, the new girl is the cover, Volume 19.1, has been named. So far she's been a nameless NPC hanging out with the other girl in Volume 19.

Here are the names:
Mill Wakaba (IRL name Osaichi George) her Umamusume name was derived from her IRL father, Mill George, and mother, Sachino Wakaba.

Bright Rock (IRL name White Stone) her Umamusume name is just a using "synonyms" of her IRL name. Also White Stone is now the only horse that has two "NPC" version in Umamusume: Vice Stone and Bright Rock

I also wanna quote that the Nase father and daughter combo is a direct reference to IRL jockeys, Take Yutaka (son) and Take Kunihiko (father). Both were jockey of Bamboo Memory.
