I found the movie that was used for the title. A movie by the original title of Druk: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10288566/ That movie is about using yourself as an experiment (in that case the effects of alcohol on their work flow, mental strain and social encounters) and I think this chapter reflected it pretty well; we have to look at ourselves from a different viewpoint sometimes to realize who we are, what we are and what we desire from others and ourselves.

I'm sure it's a different reference, but the chapter cover page art reminds me of that Mads Mikkelsen scene. Oh wait, I went to go check and I think this is the right reference. And I see that someone else has already linked it. Thank you!

Getting to see the behind the scenes process of film making and film festival organizing was very exciting. The class exercise and prompt were really interesting. Kai's aspirations to play a drunken master type of character were very intriguing. I'd also love to see him in that kind of role.

Choosing a neighbor's dog for the love letter activity and remembering the names of the neighborhood animals weren't what I was expecting, but it was also strangely fitting for Kai. Loving another student's choice of a rug as the target of the love letter as well. Domestic comforts really are special.

Even though he's relatively expressionless, Kai's internal thoughts are always so fascinating and he's surprisingly articulate and communicative. It was great to hear his thoughts on why Umiko-san is cinematically interesting and his own view on his perceived attractiveness. Umiko-san's consistent reflections of these moments also played into the call and response or pull of the tide nature of their relationship and communication with one another. As someone who loves to hear the rationale behind other people's thoughts, this series is kind of perfect for me.

Absolutely no worries about the "delay" and release schedule. It's a time-consuming effort to work on this series, so I'm happy for you all to take care of yourselves and set whatever release schedule best suits you. This chapter in particular had a lot of thought-provoking moments that must have been really hard to translate into properly meaningful words in English. Thank you Sophie, Antler Dog, and Don Pom for all of your amazing work.

I hope you are all doing well and continue to stay safe, healthy, and happy. Have a wonderful weekend :)

I think I'd have struggled a lot with that exercise, but it's an interesting one. Even though they clearly said it didn't need to be toward a person, I didn't think much beyond it and yet there are so many things that I love, more than people actually. So it's an interesting exercise to do and to see the results.

And that interview between Umiko and Kai was also great. Looking at herself through Kai to identify the similarities and, above all, the contrasts between them. And allowing us readers to do the same with both of them if we so wish.

Thanks for the chapter.
