I only see 5 chapters now so there's plenty of room for this story to change, but for now I'm a little underwhelmed. There are some good points but it does feel like they get lost behind this dull commentary constantly reminding the audience that HEY THIS GAME SUCKS FOR ACTUAL PLAYERS BUT THE MONSTER GUY IS HAVING A GREAT TIME. What little we see of the actual player experience, I don't think this would be very fun to be honest. If you have to buy weapons with real money just to enjoy the level 1-5 experience?

The bit about the technology somehow repairing certain damage like brain injuries could be interesting, though at this point it just seems weird to me that military and police organizations are apparently forming their own guilds within the game. Maybe it's just a cultural thing but if you're gonna provide a constant deluge of information I'd like some time dedicated to explaining why this game seems to be more populated than would normally be justified.

I don't really know what to say about the not-sister sister dedicating her life to not-brother brother. It comes off like a weird obligation that these stories always need weird sibling relationships. And considering all the other examples where the MC is trying to help out a family member who needs expensive medical care, it's a little offputting for the MC to just casually be like "oh i was thinking about suicide but I might try this video game instead to see if it heals my paralysis."

You actually answered your question yourself, in the same sentence... haha
If the game has effects in the real world, obviously the officials are going to investigate, if playing helps the investigation then they will play. The population will also want to get the benefits of playing, so a lot of people will come and play.

Sure enough, there is not much explaination about why the story goes on like this, but well, I've seen way worse stuff than this. If you think this is trash, then you won't read much.
It's indeed average, but better than most since the market/industry is saturated with cringeworthy comics.

Anyway I understand that this manhua isn't that good, and I agree. It's got a good spirit at least and is fun to read, until you get bored or find a better way to spend your time imo.

It could be the translation team, but honestly, Manhua writing is just shit to me. I've been reading up to current chapters at my date, and the writing is just...bad.

Irredeemable slop, frankly. Has all the tropes you would expect from the laziest CN franchises with nothing to back it up. An enormous amount of time and screen space spent on meaningless loot drops, levelling rewards, and selling items for sums that allow the MC to start thinking about buying a house three days after he started playing an MMO.

When time IS actually spent on the "plot," it's almost worse than the background noise MMO sections. Contrived plot points, pointlessly hidden identity, the visual gimmick of the story is dropped within just a few chapters, and of course it has more than a healthy dose of Chinese nationalism, so at least you know how it got funded.

This one embodies all the worst parts of the VRMMO genre, which is already almost always bad, along with all the worst parts of the CN comic scene, which at the risk of sounding discriminatory, is also almost always bad. Worthless beige garbage that doesn't try to be art but just lands firmly on "content." That's all anyone can say about it, is that it exists, and purely by virtue of it existing, I expect it will eventually reach 300+ indistinguishable chapters, which should be just enough to make some poor depressed person's life even just that little bit worse for a day or two.
