God this is lame, It's a lazy spin on the main character gets reborn as a monster genre without any of the time spent on world building or fleshing out the system every character uses.

Everything has stats but massively simplified in that it only shows level, HP, MP, skill, and rank. Levels seemingly don't matter beyond bigger number = better, hp and mp are similar, rank is completely arbitrary and doesn't mean anything, and skills are completely static without levels or grades or even explanations.

It's all thrown together so carelessly because it's just copying the already successful contemporaries, the characters themselves are just templates.

You've got the wimpy main character who refuses to kill people even though he's constantly being shit on, the annoying little sister who treats the mc like a bug, but she's secretly worried about him so it's "cute" and that somehow makes it okay, the common party members that betray people at the drop of a hat for basically no reason, the pure damsel in distress who always makes things worse, the evil for evil's sake bad guys, it's got it all.

Back to stats, the characters supposedly get stronger with every level, but the only stats that we see increase are HP, and MP, if you're going to go the rpg route with levels and everything why would you stop there? Some characters can seemingly use advanced versions of their skill like ice bolt -> ice lance, or sword beam into sword cross, but it's not explained how they can do this and it's never shown in their status board.

Anyway, if you're going to give this a read, don't expect it to respect your time, because it's just a shitty knock off at the end of the day.

sigh Alright so, I hate the MC, this work is just better suited as a Novel not in this format. I mean it works but it's just a painful read when the whole goal is to become something human looking from the undead.... Also I'm offended by the bugbear appearance, but that's the DnD player in me that hates changes.

But yeah I hate the MC because of that goal, his general personality, and the fact that literally everyone writes off how valuable a second life could be (heck it might have only been tainted and made him undead because of the dungeon)

In closing, when I see something that showcases Monster MCs, I would hope the Monster part was the focal point but here it just seems like a backstory and condition..... I just dislike the trying to hide his existence as a monster by acting like a sus human. You're a monster for crying out loud, act like one, become the boss of the dungeon to get the boost then move to others to gain further power

Did AGS abandoned this series? It's not on their website and there's no info anywhere.
