i too was worried about the family either sucking in some way or ending up slaughtered but they seem cool and it looks like we've got a basic gauge for the 4 heavenly kings, they're quirky personalities but do have free will and default to adoring the demon king which he made better by not rerolling them, if they end up liking how he is in generally too that'd be cool. i wonder if the elves will be the first conflict, the hero's party, or something to do with mary/mari.
