Many herbivores are opportunistic eaters that they wouldn't pass on eating a concentrated morsel rich in fat and protein if it didn't move.

The only thing these moon rabbits have in common with rabbits is that they have rabbit ears. We've seen them eat meat by themselves before (e.g. their mochi experiments), but we haven't seen them eat their poop just yet.

Instead, they have an aversion to luxury. It only gets cancelled out if it there was mochi on it, since it reminds them of work.

I imagine they'd already made as much mochi as they could at that time. There's probably a reserve of rice they have to make into mochi.
