Things are shaping up for the worst, but at least it looks like Douji and Dracula (whatever his name is) are back in the game.

Seeing Kyara's corpse again, I wonder how a fight between him and Bai Long would have been, but alas that ship has set sail. Somehow I feel that it'd be a similar outcome as the fight against Jonglyo, i.e. mutual destruction.
Is it just me or does Bai Long feel like a foil to Kyara, i.e. Bai Long is being compared to a living weapon/mass of weapons while Kyara is repeatedly seen as a rampaging beast?

They were on the island at the start of the ban match, but the player their were supervising got kicked off the island due to the gambles. So I'm assuming they are just coming back after making sure the players they were supervising got safely off the island.

Are the rules about fixed number of reff's either of these?
a) if a reff died, another takes their place OR
b) the reff's num are fixed by specific reffs in the ban?

are sweepers included in this restrictions?

I really appreciate this arc for finally letting us into Baku's head. We're usually in Kaji and Marco's so its nice to see that human things and fears do weigh on Baku as well. Cool visual update for Mekama and Sadakuni too.

Nowa Jr said "father-in-law"...so Nowa actually had a daughter I guess, who married Nowa Jr, and he took the family name instead?

1. A referee should never be killed, so replacement is not an option.(or maybe a dead referee is counted as a referee too)

2. "Kakerou will only provide a fixed number of referees" in a ban match, means there's no attendants or sweepers(in the first place, sweepers never participate a Kakerou match, unless they're tokens like the match between Kakerou and the police).

Well, obviously not. There are still 10 referees alive. So it's like what Nowa and Caracal said, suppressing Kakerou with violence is impossible.

Seeing Sadakuni and Mekama again was nice. Vulnerable Baku is nice. A great break from his usual wins and it gives some credit for Lalo. This has been a weird match overall, Lalo got outmaneuvered by Usogui and Leader and then pulled this, and now Baku is running for his life, but Lalo is fucked too. Its overall interesting how they clashed. I always admired of this series how the caliber of enemies seemed to get better and better (Baku was very relaxed, Amako got to slap him before losing, Suteguma almost played him and got his eye, etc; and now this).

On another note, today I was bored and counted the main fights all of Baku action supporters had:

I think he fought Lee too.

I believe the number of referees on the island is fixed regardless of if the referees there die or not. It seems like there were 8 designated player follower referees like Kadokura, plus 3-4 roaming referees like Amen (who took over following Lalo when Nanpou died). Taka killed the frog-faced ref, but his player also died so it didnt matter. Nanpou died, but his player was still alive, and ut was Lalo, so Amen and Ikon tried to tail him. If your player dies like Taka's, then it seems that the referees can either fulfill the terms of their gamble or just roam the island.

I think what tripped people up was Yakou arriving late (he was delayed because of his hand) and Nowa Sr apparently appearing out of nowhere which looked like reinforcements. I think we have to conclude that Nowa Sr was just always there on the island.

Douji and Boro came back because they had presumably ensured that their players had safely made it off the island and back to normal society. They can return because they were among the referees selected for the Ban. So they + Taka can patrol to eliminate the intruders while the other refs are stuck following their players.

Speaking of this, I forgot what happened to the Funeral Division Chief. Hal let himself get captured but I feel like the Chief didnt follow, or at least we haven't seen him in jail.

So in conclusion Nowa and Nowa Jr are just being dramatic and the situation is not really that bad, because Mitaka, Douji and Boro, are still around to replace Ikon, Nanpou, Bandai, and Amen, since it looks like she is about to fall.

Wait, that still leaves them one referee short.

Also i am now 100% convinced that Amen either shaves those lines, or she has the most peculiar balding pattern, but that's definitively not batches of white hair, that's her scalp.

@BossCrab At one point it was specifically mentioned that he was in the base and we saw him kinda see Hal being escorted to the prison, but...lol he's always been kinda useless. Hopefully he'll get his time to shine soon with his past knowledge.

Also just noticed only now that the Fukurou stuff must've been off-screened or he got scared away when Daiba came around.

The one benefit of putting the flashforward many chapters ago is that he could gloss over it now lol.

Kyara & Bai Long could be like a violent version of Lalo & Arata. There could only be one of them in this world, that is if they should have met. And I have to admit that everything is somehow still hyping Jonglyo, even though he's long gone. Miss that guy too.
