So, is this the end, truly? Bittersweet in my opinion... A matching fit for the vibe of this story.

Now I feel sad even though I couldn't quite grasp the end.

I don't understand the final page though because the chair is empty, implying they're both gone?

I'm honestly quite confused with the ending too.. But in my interpretation, it seems like:

• Kaname returned Yuuki's heart back to her dying body
• Yuuki got resurrected, however, due to her thirst for (idk how many) years, she reverted to baby (much like in Kaname's case when he got awakened by Rido in og story)
• There was a "drip drip" blood short scene after Kaname hugs baby Yuuki before it shifted to Ai and Ren, so I guess, either Yuuki drank his blood turning him back into vampire before he fully died as human, or he died as human after returning Yuuki's heart.
• I guess, it was the first option from above because then we saw Kaname and baby Yuuki on the chair, before on the last page, the chair turned empty with gfx of them vanishing.

So, my take is that they both disappeared under the sun they love so much as vampires.
I'm not so sure either, though, this is just a theory of mine. haha..

What I don't get though...
1. What was that blood floating above the corpse and got inside Kaname, attacking him?
2. Who does Kaname mean by "he" "in the coffin" and "Let him rest" also "made him into my puppet because of his own feelings and convenience"??

Is it Zero?? Are they both Zero?
Then was it Zero's body or Yuuki's?

That's where I'm confused and need enlightment.

I didn’t think of it being Zero actually! That’s interesting but I don’t remember what they did to Zero’s body after he died :/ My theory below

Personally I had assumed it was one of those level E human turned vampires who was changed by Kaname. So maybe the blood this vampire drank from Kaname returned back to him hence the ‘final fragment’ returning back to him idk (though I can’t remember if Kaname ever converted any humans in the original series).


Okay so I went back a few chapters – Ren and Ai talk about this person in the coffin in chap 48. Described as an evil pureblood who was enslaved by Kaname’s “blood” and Zero was the one who sealed them so it can’t be Zero or Yuki. My guess is maybe that pureblood lady who turned Zero into a vampire? I think Kaname subdued this pureblood with his blood/whatever (hence the making him into my puppet line) so that was what returned back to his body? And since they were confined inside all this time but still alive, Kaname said time to die since they’ve served his purpose I guess. Again this is just conjecture assuming the gender of the person inside the coffin wasn’t explicitly stated in the original jp raws.

Also I’ve forgotten most of the story so this is just a guess. If I ever have enough energy and brain cells to reread and put together the hints I’ll update this lol

Though I’m confused af about the ending too 😭 Why did Yuki turn into a baby?? And I’m assuming they are both really gone for good now but why?

Could it be the vampire who was trapped in the dungeon? The pure blood vampire that attacked Yuki in the prequel. I think his name was Toma right.

I highly recommend going back to chapter 1 and reading the last 2 pages. The ending was actually foreshadowed this whole time.

It can't possibly be her (Shizuka Hio) she was turned to dust after Kaname ripped her heart out in the first series. There was no body left to bury.
