Ok, I can't actually tell if they remember their previous life or not. I thought the previous chapter implied it, but maybe not? Damn, I wish I had a definitive answer. Why ya gotta do me like this?

Thanks for the TL

Seems pretty clear they don't, otherwise they would recognize Aoi and Shion.

I think that only Iris, but not Sara, but in my opinion, better was Sara x Iris what this 3th try with a slow romance

Thet can recognize because they are teachers and Shion is the director, but nothing about Shion (Aoi nurse/assist?)

I'm glad we have an "after story," because it's nice that we see them again together forever this time... I think only "senpai" remember the past.

In her (Sara's) third life, they can now flirt with each other again, like in the early chapters. The third time's a charm.

I really hope Sara survives that since we knew her character as Sara, not Yuuka(?) but, oh well, who am I to complain when we get a happy ending?

I sped through this because it didn't really work for me, but I like the idea and wanted that sweet resolution. I'm satisfied with it, though the high school setting was filler and it could've been set anywhere.

Gripes:
  • No older Aoi face. Rude.
  • Hypocrisy. We didn't see papilodemons do any worse than human nobles. Psyche's quid pro quo with the aristocracy and a sacrificial daughter system turned out way more dubious than Shion or the usual vampire consent issues. There was no upperclass criticism, which is tonally bizarre since that's core to the tragic vampire vibe since Dracula (Stoker ver) and Nosferatu. It's touched on in much fluffier manga than this, maybe most vampire stories. I get that this kept focus on the 4-person opera where everyone is a captive. But it's too blatant and hits way too close to how responsibility is shifted IRL. So the narrative excuses complicity or resignation to a heirarchy gladly trading underloved lives for profit. That's screwed up. It's unromantic, a second sense of unromantic, and it undermines the tragedy.

I couldn't get the latter out of my mind, so I'll have to look for more queer vampires. Yay.
