I was going to complain once more that Jiyong's pangs of conscience make no sense, especially in light of what Gang-ok revealed to him in this chapter. But I don't think it'll be long before Jiyong goes Vigilante with a vengeance. He was already clutching his hands at the end of Gang-ok's story. And our favourite billionaire psycho knows it, too.
The ironic thing in this chapter is that Jiyong is conflicted not only by seeing his boss do justice by the book, but also by seeing Seongcheol advocate for legislation to curb jeonse fraud, when we know father-in-law here is a sleazebag and the main antagonist.
And I'm getting bad vibes from Yeongji, by the way. Something tells me she's a tool for her father. I don't have a clear reason, it's just a hunch. I hope I'm wrong, I like their chemistry.
By the way… there seems to be a subtle hint in chapter 17 that the mysterious person who contacted Seong-gu is up to no good. In the intel he gave the Fertilante, the name of the consultant is Kim Jeong-uk, but I was reminded in this chapter that his name in Kim Yeong-hwan. I checked the originals and we didn't make a mistake. Unless there are several consultants, I think the pseudo-Vigilante is feeding Seong-gu false information.
This chapter was hell to typeset. Hope there are no protest signs in the next.
