Yeah I thought I was tripping lol. I'm pretty sure Marie-Antoinette wasn't evil whatsoever. The concept may be interesting, but there are many women in this list who can't really be considered as villainess.
Starting by Marie-Antoinette herself who was more your regular noble without understanding of the real world. But she didn't acted especially with evil intents.
Several women in this list are confused between powerful women and villainess. As if a women with power has to be evil...
Not even mentionning those who are in the list for some legends which my not be true. But well, at least it's based about something like legends even if it's not reality.
Ah yeah, battle between villains from different perspectives. Fate series let's go
In the words below it's said "The woman who single-handedly drove the King mad and drove the land into Chaos" that combined with her Chinese style outfit lead me to believe that the identity of this woman is that of either Daji of Yang Guifei....The girl on the first few pages in color, is that Marie wearing different clothes or a different character entirely? It's really unusual for the first few color pages to prominently showcase a character who's not in chapter 1, not unless they're already clearly showcasing "this person is a future enemy". Even then, there's normally a spread with the actual main characters afterwards.
Leads me to wonder if we're being baited and Marie isn't actually the main female heroine.
I remember when I looked up “Chinese Empresses that boiled people alive” Wu Zetian came up, who is 8 on the list. Fun fact Daji is ofter portrayed in mythology as a malevolent kitsune, so I take it they’ll lean into that for her appearance. In the words below it's said "The woman who single-handedly drove the King mad and drove the land into Chaos" that combined with her Chinese style outfit lead me to believe that the identity of this woman is that of either Daji of Yang Guifei.
I'm more drove to Daji because in her background there are people being seemingly tortured and if I remember correctly Daji was famous for those kind of things too.
To be fair, this chapter seems to imply with its whole monologue about the people of the time that it might be less about being an actual villainess and more about how she was seen at the time.Yeah I thought I was tripping lol. I'm pretty sure Marie-Antoinette wasn't evil whatsoever.
