Tatacaw, Thorfinn. He should see that having to resort to violence is already going against his unrealistic utopia. It still makes a world's difference to not kill and not go for agression first. But it's the same issue here for the whole village: if Arneid's village wants peace now, it's going to have to answer to this declaration of war to survive.

Things are already looking up when peaceful and decent folks march to war with dread and not glee.

"just injure them"
and then what? Every crossbow bolt they get in their arm or leg is likely to get infected or break their bone and cripple them and make them unable to use a bow and hunt anymore so you're likely just killing them slowly.
People alive at the time would understand this. Silly modern sensibilities.

This entire arc gives me so much unease, it feels like everything is slowly crumbling apart and it's too late to stop and go back. I'm very curious if Cordelia is going to succumb to her fear of battle and stay effectively useless, or if her instinct to protect is going to kick in and finally use that Thorkell strength to good use. If there was ever a time to make use of it, it's now
