Can anyone remind me why Tenma can merge and summon Jack? i remember that he was a brat that really looked up to Jack to the point that he started using his name, but Tenma was not magical, he was just a kid, and then with effort and hard work got all buff

How I read it is that Jack sent and gave his strength momentarily for Tenma to use. Of course it could be read also that Jack is a force of nature so Tenma became just like this force in his rage, to outside it seamed as if he distroing everything just with the pover of his aura. How I like to say it is if you just belive hard enough something it might become real, this is how in Devilman anyone can become a devil if they so choose.
