I can sort of understand him. For the longest time I felt like what ever pain I'm going through, it is okay, because there are those that have gone through worse. The difference is how we interpret the "relief" from the thought. A messed up coping mechanism.

After delving into my own perception and understanding more about the world, I realized that isn't a correct outlook. We're all being oppressed and shouldn't accept it as the only option.
