Looks like this isn't gonna be short.
Before anything else, first thing I'll say: It's fine to take a hiatus/break. You need not feel guilty. Looking back, to think it's already been a whole half and a half since this was started (and half a year since my last comment on time-related milestones
), and for the release schedule to have been kept up for that long, self-published at that. I'm no mangaka (nor am I that familiar with the self-publishing field for manga;
do note this, especially for what I say later), but that's mighty impressive. Of course, as impressive as it is, it's undoubtedly a lot of work, especially considering this is a self-published series with ~20 pages instead of one or a few per chapter, and that the length doesn't compromise the art. Perhaps taking breaks during the ends of the first volumes would've helped (no worries, I'm patient), but that's in the past now. Sadly, I cannot see such life situations from just here.
During your break, of course go rest, but imo,
do not let the hiatus be silent. That won't retain interested readers. Instead, give some
bonuses My totally not motivated for something comment aside, for extras, you aren't limited to a release schedule, page count, and maybe could goof off a bit with your art :> One thing I would like to see for a bonus/extra is a reflection/retrospect/whatever of the creation and releasing of this series. What is it like to create your own manga? Alas, I don't see myself drawing one, but how was that process? Have fun with such, but don't hold back on what you wanna talk about either. Of course, this is all up to you.
As for spreading the word, unfortunately I'm not gonna be much of a help with this. Sorry 'bout that. However, I'd like to point out that although there's not a lot of readers, the percentage that's "active" (as in comments, at least what I see on NamiComi) is rather high; I doubt self-publishing is something that easy to get any traction from, so I hope you recognize the value of having these active readers (like me). Maybe one of them is fervent enough to spread this. Or I figure out something. Sadly, at the moment, I don't see the option to become a Supporter being available to try to add this to the Featured by Supporters, but there is another section. Cmon Mangadex, show this series in the front page's Self-Published section
Maybe there'll be more to say in the future, but for now I'll wrap up here. Note I don't use Twitter/X
bleh so hopefully you keep an eye out elsewhere (which may be easier if you go through with fun bonus tid bits).
For now, take a break but don't neglect what's here. I dunno if I'm your first following reader but I think I am the first active one. As a reader here since near the beginning, I hope this essay-sized comment reaches you and helps you out as the light for that crossroad. And if you really really really REALLY need a good light,
use discord light mode
Best to ya.
