"All but the first page is written in Ancient Sanskrit" (art shows page full of Chinese characters.)
I know that it's possible to spell foreign languages phonetically in Chinese characters, but at least Japanese Buddhists use Sanskrit characters. They learned it from the Chinese, so I assume the Chinese use Sanskrit characters for Sanskrit at well?
