It’s that pattern where Hayasaka’s feeling for Yanagi is “not true love”, she only have a superficial crush on that guy, which is alright on its own. But having these kind of “sharing secret” intimate relationship with Kirishima usually leads to her feeling stronger attachment to Kirishima instead.

Yanagi is Tachibana’s real fiancé. The person acting like her fiancé is just a clown (he’s Yanagi’s relative or something, excused himself as “making sure no other men approach her” while in fact he’s just wanting to show off having a girl). So of course when the real fiancé shows up, he had to go away.

kind of debating if I should just read the novel or not, and want to at least clarify some plot points after reading all of these spoilers.

He genuinely loves her, but he doesn’t know about the debt. And her mother also actually okay about cancelling the engagement if the children don’t want it.
