it is a bit odd unless it's some implied undertones of "i agreed to go out with you for fun but i don't consider this a serious relationship" (although considering) she's 21 and he's in high school i think it would be considered illegal if they did hook up (well not that ppl would just immediately tell a cop about it versus getting caught but hm)
