You've actually seen Manaria's maid or obsessed lover in the manga but it was basically a panel and she's not the focus yet. Forgot which chapter they showed her. She attends the school. That's basically a minor easter egg, since the manga won't reach any parts where she plays a role. I'd read the LNs to understand what happened there.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the manga made a change there. Unless I'm misremembering the eater egg, they seemed to show her at this school already. It's been a while though so maybe the backdrop was a different school.

I'm glad they changed Manaria's reappearance, it feels more natural here than in LN where she returned in the last chapter as some sort of last minute asspull.

While I'm happy to see the manga's version, I kinda liked how the LN framed it.

I just imagined Manaria hearing about the news about the upcoming executions from afar and, after hearing that Rae is at her lowest and giving up, comes all the way down to kick her ass in gear. Bit of a "how many times do I have to teach you this lesson, old man?" kind of moment.

It's my fav series of all time! Of course And I'm sure the rest of the team appreciates the sentiment too! [edit: the translator says "🔥"]

On another note, I'm shocked nobody's talking about this page. Had me floored when the translator got to it. Alter was legitimately about to erase Rae's memory of Claire... Talk about brutal.



But there's an asterisk to this. Since Alter is Salas's creation, he'd probably be using his father's spells. But in LN5, Rae's memories of Claire are replaced using Salas's magic. It does not work. Rae's love is too strong, and Salas's spell isn't perfect. But here, it alone could absolutely have bought enough time for the coming execution, never mind if Salas took more precautions... and frankly this is worse because it means Rae would ABSOLUTELY remember what she's lost

hi so uh its a bit more complicated than that. Despite everyone calling him Lilly, this is Lilly's ALTER. It's DID stuff, meaning he's more or less another person in Lilly's head. (and yes the alter is a guy.)

Lilly isn't in control right now; she hasn't been since chapter 53.

In chapter 53, the alter describes himself as more or less the personification of Lilly's hidden dark side. BUT, he is very much his own character with his own will, and Lilly can in most cases only influence his behavior a bit.



"And just so you know:
that girl won't ever look your way.
As long as Claire François is around, that is."

You might think this goes against my point, but this is Alter priming Lilly to succumb to her dark side, ergo, let him take over.

All of this is to say... Lilly loves Rae, but she wouldn't try to get between Rae and Claire- or at least, not like this. Lilly doesn't roll like that. Her alter is who's in control, and as the personification of Lilly's darkest thoughts, he's the one that's messed up enough to want to remove Claire from the picture.
Bonus fact: you can tell who's who by the parting of the hair. To the left: Lilly. To the right: Alter. Barring the symbolism, that's why chapter 53 usually has him behind reflections.

Trust me though, I do vibe with you, not liking Lilly pursuing Rae. But it's for different reasons. If you want to know: (Spoilers for book 5) More-or-less God goes through Rae's memories and that of those around her to replace Claire with Lilly, essentially forcing Rae - against her will - to be in a relationship with someone she doesn't love. It's beyond sickening. (and note: lilly didn't have anything to do with it, it's because the basically god character needed claire out of the picture and i guess they saw lilly as a good replacement wife for rae.) And reading this ruined the pairing for me forever

Well i don't know where to ask this so i'm just asking it here...

I read all the light novels ( including " she's so cheeky for a commoner " ) two years ago and just found out about the sequel novel about May and Aleah ( and also Lily )
" Turn around and face me " ( or i'm in love with the villainess : come on and notice me already ) 😭😭😭

( Aarghhh how tf i didn't knew about that even it came out like 3 years ago!!?? ...I'm literally crashing out rn like what was the purpose of my life...)

Anyway so i'm going to start reading it now but I can't remember much about what happened in the volume 5
( like May's powers...Aleah too, was there any hints about May and Aleah, what happened to Lily, about TAIM and other side characters )

So if there's someone who read all the volumes can you please write a recap about volume 5 ( Literally the whole act 2 ) or i guess i just have to read all the light novels again...
