The rare tankoubon collection of R18 shorts in which every chapter is not just arousing, but memorable. Where most ecchi one-shots are little but fap fuel arising from cliched tropes, Kumano Tooru treats each outing as an opportunity to craft a distinct and satisfying little story of his own invention. Some may be more inventive than others, but all are worth a read.
That said, the tales collected here are by no means complex. Each follows a basic vanilla arc to a happy end in which long-hidden romantic yearnings are requited in the flesh. There's never a dark side or an ironic twist, and no larger messages seem intended. Nevertheless, taken for what they are, Kumano's narratives are engaging and well crafted. They're populated by appealing young lovers, and the art's quite nice, too, though more workmanlike than flashy.
Aside from the standard rotation of heterosexual acts and positions, the only consistent fetishes on display are for teenage youth, pale skin, downy pubes, and soft femdom. I'm fine with all and lean hard into the last couple, so I happily count myself among the target audience. I especially appreciate Kumano's willingness to let female desire lead the charge. While each story centers a boy's POV, the sexual action is always initiated and directed by the girl he fancies, with none of the noncon shadings that darken so many otherwise enjoyable eromanga.
Highly recommended to just about anyone, hardened coomers and porn casuals alike -- 9/10 (8 on merit +1 for affection)
