This might be an unpopular opinion but I’m actually kinda hoping Kamoi ends up with Ono, at least in the short term. If the author is going to keep critiquing romance tropes they need to commit to actually subverting them. And I don’t think Stowie deserves any wins right now with the way he’s acting.

well he's a kid having his social circle unraveling around him , seeing his friend be more successful than him so yeah he's being an asshole,but is not unexpected.

but I think this makes him better as a character, it shows he's also very flawed as a person , like everyone else.

yea thats kinda the point, he's become very arrogant. Even though we see how much he's grown, we've been seeing that its been slowly getting to his head. And this chapter was a good point on calling him out for that arrogance. We see all the way from the beginning his fear of the popular crowd mocking him and roasting his interests and arts, and this chapter he became the thing he feared, making fun of the people who are trying their best in baseball. And we see he finally understand that even he didn't do anything to Ota, he was an asshole. This will be a good moment of reflection for him, and he needs to let go of his arrogance and shame if he ever wants to become a good mangaka.

Yeah I don't think he does ,I only read until like the school trip and a bit after, but kamoi does have some development after this arc , where she fears she's being left behind and starts studying to go to the same school as stowie , but then stowie says he wants to go to tokyo to study to be a mangaka without noticing kamois new desire to go study with him.

He's a middle schooler who's in the strokes of puberty. This is definitely him at his worse, but he's been on the decline since the Kamoi kiss and visiting Sana. His self esteem is at its lowest, and he's definitely lashing out.

It's hard when you're not the extrovert in the group and you feel left out because you can't reasonably contribute. I'm just glad something is gonna shake Stowie out of it.
