Fat butao proportions are so funny
he almost looks like one of those joke characters you do on games

not to mention his shoulders are very wide
but when in the fat form his hips gets just as wide making him look like a block

I hate this too, but in the end it doesn't matter because nothing ends the way the story is meant to be anyway.
I think he just does this because he doesn't have a goal in this game.

yeah most isekai mcs are like that
principally the ones that are isekaied into a game/novel
they never want to become the mc of the game/novel or atleast to take matters with their own hands

Because they know the path to best ending. It's not hard to understand. Why would you completely deviate from the path that leads to the best ending. You are now met with unknown variables that could lead to the worst ending and your death. I think this manga does it well unlike most MCs in those other ones. One example I know of is when a route to a heroine for the protagonist is to get the highest score in an exam
The MC despite knowing this and wanting to not be involved in the main story becomes the top student instead. In here butao is doing everything he can not to deviate from the path to the best ending for everyone. Him helping that one girl is also a risk. It's like a butterfly effect. You really need to think about it from butaos perspective.

He also doesn't know every single exact thing of the story. Like he isn't aware of what happens in the female route. Proper backgrounds and lore to make the world make sense that he isn't aware of were probably also created. Like he never knew about butaos background. Him revealing his power puts a lot of unknown variables into the mix and can put a target on him and his family.

yeah i forgot about that, depending of what he do It might hurt his family real bad
and considering that all of that situation is not really a game but some sort of alternate reality
there would be no means of returning or respawning if he dies
so even with no horrific possibility of death its understandable that he would not like to interfere

tho I still kinda wanted to see a transgression story where the mc actively deviates from the plot despite the consequences

its just that the whole idea of "going through predestined paths" feels kinda boring after some time

It is but it's like gambling. It's exciting but you can work the stable job and not risk losing anything. In this case he's gambling on his one life. Why would he do that lol? The other guy thinks of it as a game so he has a different line of thinking.

All harem otome games isekai stories have this problem with the "best ending" which doesn't end up being the best ending at all.
Take as an example Kaoru's romance scenario so far. It's complete trash and the ending is like "being with this person will help me fullfill my dream" doesn't sound romantic at all.
Also, they only see things that were from the protagonist perspective and so far he's not wise or cunning. He doesn't catch the real motives behinds the events and ends up getting in trouble and solving everything with brute force.
I believe that this whole stick to the scenario is just the mc trying to find an excuse to not get involved, he was a loner in his past life and in the novels he's always trying to find an excuse to not get close with the "named" characters.
