Seems to me that there is some type of thing inside him that made him destructive/protected himself, and also that there was a parallel world where that power is an actual thing whereas in the original world it is not recognizable. Soooo.... kind of like generic MC that has special stuff about him but causes him trouble until it can be harnessed/used in the correct way. Hope that helped some way, though I am slightly confused as well as it hopped around a lot. Probably will be clearer in a few more chapters. I could try explaining a bit more, but I have to go.
