I'm pretty sure that since he is ALSO doing the "Influence the king through his chef" plan, he wouldn't have the entire Royal Guard in on it. The only people that matter that are in the know is the Evil Chef + son, Head Chef, and him. Could be wrong since I'm going mostly off of memory, but he wouldn't have the guard going around killing civilians when he's trying to fly under the radar

She's trying to become the personal chef for the princess once she becomes queen, since in this kingdom that means you have unrestricted access to the royalty and can influence them. Princess wants MC to be her chef. The current king's chef is either a traitor, overfeeding the king while he's sick (Thus killing him from malnutrition) or just really incompetent. Given how he's acted, I'm pretty sure he's a traitor. (Also probably MC's brother)

So last month it was announced that this was getting anime for 2025, though who knows what are they going to adapt, but given is from gardo i mostly expect they go with the manga instead of the LN for much that it suck what they are doing with the plot in the manga

While reading, I realized they changed positions a bunch.. all within the palace/castle, right?
So what's got me, is the fact that the princess rode in from the distance, standing on a horse... inside of the palace/castle somewhere underground.
