What is the best way to deal with uploaders with poor quality scans?

Just a disclaimer, I am not posting this to create drama or issues. I just want to have better understanding of why this behavior is allowed.

Someone has been uploading chapters of manhuas that other groups have started. I understand 'sniping' is allowed here, however the quality of uploads are horrendous. Not only that, they have uploaded chapters way way ahead from the most recent chapter from the original group, spoiling future chapters with poorer quality. The person in question has been called out by the original groups, however they retaliated with reasons that the other groups are slow. This statement is not true since some of the series they took had fresh chapters up to three days ago.

The main issue presented is not the 'sniping' rather it's the quality of the work and skipping tons of chapters for no solid reason. It's a bad experience for the readers to be spoiled with poor quality and most likely the contents are not true to the raw content which leads to false information.

I want to know is there anything that can be done to make sure readers are content with the stories they read here? Otherwise the other option would be is to let them continue with this behavior of posting chapters waaay ahead with no regards to the experience.

unless they broke some rules, like using automated tools to make the whole chapter, your best option is to block the group or uploader

The ones they uploaded look all automated :notlikethis: i can't post the links here just yet. Another proof its automated they have uploaded 11 chapters of different series within a span of 2 days. Is that normal?

Automated is about the process, MD allows machine translations but you do the rest, the thing not allowed is also using an assisted tools for cleaning, redrawing and placing the text, sometimes the batch release is due to a group having their own site and just uploading in here after a while or really breaking the rules, that's something the mods can judge if you send a report pointing that, again currently your best option is to block.

Edit, checking your post history I guess is about LITsTranslations...

Groups don't own the manga they're working on. There's really no such thing as sniping. People just don't like it because sometimes it causes the original scanlators to lose motivation and quit, but there's really no rules that's against it besides honor among thieves. You wouldn't really want to have rules against sniping, because that'd be abused to hell and back by malicious groups. You can somewhat say it's already abused, because most won't snipe a group unless it's been at least three months since their last chapter release, so some groups keep "rights" to a manga just barely releasing four chapters a year, which is kind of shitty behavior honestly.

Your best choice is to block them and ignore their releases. It's not great that their releases are the ones that will be scraped by the aggregators, but it is what it is. People shouldn't read on ad infested aggregators in the first place.

I haven't checked out their releases, but it's usually easy to tell if they've used automated tools like ichigoreader or cotrans, which isn't allowed. But it's completely allowed to clean the chapters, and typeset the translated text from those tools directly into the chapters without editing. It's crap, but there's more than enough groups that already do it. Though the mods have a policy of not judging on translation quality, which is more of a capacity issue if I've understood correctly.

Some also make speed scanlations like me (basic redrawing and typesetting), and if you're starting to demand a certain type of quality, should also speed scanlations not be allowed? That'd remove like two thirds of the releases on mangadex probably, which would have been perfectly fine and readable for most readers. I honestly think that would've killed mangadex completely.
