What is the interaction of the MDList filter with new updates?

I'm fairly new here and I really like the site. I am currently transferring my bookmarks from one site to here (550+ mangas). Its a pretty tedious job, but I'm willing to do it.

I can't seem to find any info/FAQ regarding the MDList filters. My question is how does the MDList filters react to any new uploads of that manga? I notice that in the front page, there's this section labeled Follows. Which MDList filter falls under these Follows?

I think my question is more for these two filters: Reading and Completed.
Let's say I have this manga that I really like and want to be notified that it comes out as soon as I visit the site. I believe that the filter would fall under Reading. Now that I have read it, do I label it now as Completed? If a manga that I have already read that I have marked as Completed gets an update, would the manga get shifted to Reading?

I know that this question can be answered by trial and error but I want to shift all my bookmarks as soon as possible so I want to avoid going back to them again just to change a certain filter.

The site won't touch your reading status, it's all manual work. Setting it to reading will track read markers (the eyes) for any chapter you open. Setting it to completed will auto-mark everything as read even if you haven't read it. This clears all of your previous read markers for that manga as a way to save space for the server.

Your follows on the front page will display only for manga set to reading.

MDList (and follows -> manga) last updated timestamp uses the general timestamp for a manga. It gets updated when a release (in any language) is uploaded, regardless of the category set.

Also recommended that you set your language filters if you haven't already, or to change the privacy setting on your MDList if you plan on sharing it with others
