...What??? Is the King trying to cause a crusade (or at least huge political tension) on his Kingdom or something??
He's trying to kill his daughter-in-law whom is recognised as such by the Pope of (what seems to be) the current dominant religion in that world, and for no reason since the contract is "sacred" and "unbreakable" and probably will be valid even after the MC's death due to that.
