assuming theyre operating on the same rules as the old forums, no. Thats an intentional design choice, something about not wanting to confuse comment chains with a bunch of deleted comments. I don't really get the decision either though, if you can just edit the comment to say something else. Seems like it'd be more misleading/confusing, but thats what it is I guess.
