Like half of the witch hunters went full Hitler nazi and joined or setup like a whole coup. I remember being annoyed by a how little anyone actually noticed and like how much they actually took over/hijacked fairly easily.

The manga is slow to release and also (from chapter 234):

Short explanation for the 2 years: No more translator, vol 24 that was released in French last year had already been translated from the magazine raws. So we had to wait for 25 to come out which was 3 days ago. Aaand this vol was also partially already translated hence why there are only 4 more chapters available for translation. On the good side of things, the author has been releasing more consistently so we should get volumes faster.
