Am typing this with teary eyes.
I love this series so much! It's the perfect kind of mundane, slow-burn story that somehow managed to keep me interested for 456 chapters. I have too many things to say, probably will write a proper review on somewhere else but I guess I'll say a few things.
Wintermelon!! Once again, you were the best! You were there for them from the beginning and was there to help take care of the kids from far away with your watchful eyes. Thank you Wintermelon for your service.
Xu Qing and Jiang He, I really thought you guys were going to have five kids. I miss the Deng Tuzi jokes during the last 100 or so chapters? Good for you guys for having a stable relationship out of the trio albeit the unique dynamic of solving problems between the two of you.
Xu Jin, Xu Sh'ian, thanks for being such good kids for your parents.
XiaoXiao! Congratulations on holding on to your childhood sweetheart for 20~ish years? Impressive.
Wang Zi and Qi Hao, you guys are the best trio. Always got each other backs and covering for each other's shortcomings. Glad you got back together with your wife, both of you really.
Xu Qing's mom and dad! Thank you for believing in your son. Thank you for supporting the couple. I loved the dad's banter with Xu Qing.
Lastly, thank you to the people responsible for bringing such a mundane masterpiece to my life! I had honestly given up hope on finding a partner. I've got problems to deal with and decided to tough it all alone and probably won't ever be able to solve it but this series magically gave me hope. I think it was back when they first got the kids? The panel of Wintermelon watching over the newborns' cradle, caring over them.
That scene hit me like a truck. They have kids now. They are getting older. Time passes in this manhua. Wintermelon is careful with the kids. But they are still romantics.
It gave me hope, strength to pick myself back up, be better and maybe once again, try looking again out there.
Thank you author, artists, translator for this series!
P.S: I looped Christina Perri's "A thousand years" for the last 100 chapters and holy shit it hit so much harder. Every heart-warming scene became warmer, every loss such as those of loved ones or even time passing hit harder. The title and lyrics itself with the thousand years fits itself way too well lol. A wife from a Thousand years ago. Peace!
