But seriously fuck that greedy bastard. Things like groups commissioning translators I can understand (like the Mald Frogs Club does with the A Returner's Magic Should Be Special light novels, they literally pay out of their patreon by the chapter), but expecting people to pay you for a fan translation of one page a day that was only available for scanlating because it got officially licensed is beyond the pale.
Thank you so much for picking this up to shut that person down.
I'm so confused...so many groups trying to take over for Helvecta but the reason they dropped it was out of respect for the official licensing, so unless the official release is Japanese only and the scans are for other languages, isn't continuing to scan it risking legal trouble like Way of The House Husband recently had?
@codetaku as much as I frown upon patron for this, your comments are way out of line. Kyuu-scans asks for donations, they do not expect anything.
And just because another group is willing to do it without asking for donations, does not make someone asking for donations greedy. People generally do deserve to be compensated for their work and time, even if most others in the hobby decline it.
@EternalRavenDreamer We have some staff in Fire Syndicate who were reading Kyuu-chan and we didn't plan to pick it up at first but when we saw some new guy releasing chapters more slowly and creating a Patreon after releasing 3 chapters (which mean 3 pages) it kinda irked us...
We will drop this if we get into legal trouble or if the official translation catch up quickly with the original work
Thanks for the work guys none. Official english TL will probably be slow as usual in will probably be only volume release which will take possibly a year or 3 to catch up, just basing from previous stuff I have seen with Official English licensing to mangas already ongoing past 100+ chapters or so.

@EternalRavenDreamer Different licensors, so probably not. House Husband's license is held by Viz, who've always been quite aggressive with copyright enforcement over the years. Kyuu-chan's held by Seven Seas who is much less aggressive. For example, they have the license for Roujoteki Shoujo Hinata-chan (Granny Girl Hinata-chan) but fan translations continue on it. Granted the official releases have passed the fan translations at this point, but they don't seem to care about them.
I appreciate the translations, they’re very professionally done and high quality, but you guys also sound like a bunch of petty crybabies lmao
Oh well, just keep em coming.
