For what it's worth, I feel like the king should purposefully push really hard against the anti-this and anti-that groups. Some of them would overreact, forgetting who's the king and who's the subject, and the king could get rid of them once and for all. If the king thinks he can't do that, then we can already say there's something severely wrong about that monarchy and it's the high time to fix things. A kingdom can only have a single king.

At least I'm pleased to see Yuusuke unhappy about how Volet's situation is developing. Maybe this will be the first time he actually does something on his own, regardless of what others might think of it. He has a lot of weight, but it's meaningless if he's never throwing it around.

Not all monarchies are absolute. It's not necessarily a problem, especially if you're not the king.

(Of course, here it's a problem because the noble faction, as often in such stories, are the bad guys. I do wonder why we so often get Royals = good and Nobles = bad instead of literally any other configuration.)

@AlmondMagnum Well, sure, it's not a problem if you happen to be one of the few nobles. But for everyone else, it's a problem. Either have an absolute monarchy or a parliamentary monarchy. A weak king and powerful nobles only creates a weak country.

@RiceScum1 He doesn't but he's also friends with several people there so he do wants to help them in some way so he's not doing it out of obligation but simply because he's actually a pretty good guy. Honestly it would help if those old farts simply stop being such paranoid idiots but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon.

At this point, MC is just trying to avoid conflict by being a genuinely nice guy, and the anti faction are being labeled assholes for being paranoid assholes, which of course leads to them acting like assholes more.

@RiceScum1 I wrote about it before in the comments of some chapter, but the Yuusuke is still basically trying to figure out what he should be doing. He's considered the single most powerful individual in the world, being the Dark God, so he obviously feels like he should do something, that there's some reason for his existence in that world. He just needs to figure out what it is. He's not super proactive and especially not a rowdy & brazen person, so he's not going to shake the world randomly to find his path.

Ah yes, the nobles in a monarchy. They kinda resemble the bunch of assholes in parties in democracy, don't you think? The only difference in monarchy and democracy is this
Monarchy: screw the people, by the nobles/royalties, and for the nobles/royalties
Democracy: screw the people, by the people, for the assholes

Just fucking behead all the noble families not friendly with the crown/Dark God, repossess all their wealth, and either centralize it in the crown or appoint new noble families.

The crown, when it's just and honest, being paralyzed by its own nobility, who are supposed to be servants and submissive, is a goddamned joke.

Kill all traitors to the good of the kingdom and the well-being of the world at large.

@AlmondMagnum Because nobles in this context are trying to have their cake and eat it too since the justification for their authority is the same as the justification for the King's authority so by being against the king, they ruin their own legitimity but still want to keep their power and it's hard to portray that as good instead of just selfish hypocrisy.

they do realize they're literally after a God who doesn't know he can modify people's abilities to a certain degree because of his wish right? even if you count that out, he could easily force the king and everyone else into submission and no one would blame him for it if they were to try to get rid of him, hell these anti-dark god squad people are all just digging their own graves

This arc is dragging on so damn bad the CIA considered using it as a replacement torture. But it was found to be TOO extreme, cruel and unusual. So they continue to stuff rags in prisoners mouths and pour water over their head to simulate drowning. Yup, less cruel than reading this arc.

If they were really accomplished or competent, they can think of an incredible things that benefit all and at the same time their position is secured like how MC build a port town.
If money is the issue, they can think of another thing, for example securing and creating a road that collect security toll, and it will benefit all...

All i can see from them was they use the tax money to sustain their lifestyles and connections and its getting hard to cut off all of that because one mouth is all it take to crumble their family name....
