Oh surprised the bl tag got added guess that might spoil some ppl but I guess some ppl wanna filter it out, that said sucks for any newer readers specifically browsing the bl tag and wondering why Ame seems to be the focus at first lol

But hope Itsuki isn’t too fucked up
Yeah I kinda got spoiled from the tags, but on the other hand I probably wouldn't have seen or read the story if it didn't have the bl tag

it didn't always have it, so at first i wasn't sure if itsuki was a tomboy/feminine male til we saw him shirtless tho def more to it. maybe he's not even gay and 'seduced' mc to make his 'art'/films better b/c the very beginning showed him looking happy/smiling in a 'messed up' way, there was that 'i wanna be killed by your beautiful self' which has very heavy homo erotic tendencies but stated by the author themselves that it wasn't a bl but i can understand why straight male readers would be off-put/not read more after the first chapter

but i like the art style/like the story/mystery overall so it'd be fine with this whether itsuki was male or not (tho i bet if all the main casts were female and this was a yuri there'd be twice as much ppl following lol)

Imagine, being explicit that the mc was gay, and when appears him kissing a guy, the ppl drop cuz he's gay

he might be bi or demi/pan etc, he def did have a 'reaction' to Ame and all blushy/didn't have some kinda digusted/rejection reaction when she said they were lovers but it is rare to see a bisexual love triangle this way versus two guys being into the same girl but i guess it's just b/c it's fictional, sexuality can be fluid but idk how many experienced gay ppl would go through amnesia and suddenly 'become straight / bi'

well, when u see his past, u probaly can notice that he became gay cuz of the depression, when he was more lively when young, he had blushes reactions to her, so, if he got amnésia, he dont have that depression, that it was the "click" to become gay

19 is up on their site

itsuki does seem guilty enough I can’t say he’s a hundred percent blameless even if he didn’t cause the accident on purpose but I imagine Ame warned him to stay away

Poor Ame. I'd pay her therapy bill.

I mean... people won't like it... but really and truly she's not entitled to a romantic relationship with Umi at all. It's tough, because you want to say maybe he should've rebuffed her more clearly, or gotten the hint that she was attracted to him in a deeper sense and tried to nip it in the bud somehow, but that's all very difficult under the haze of a deep depression when you've been abandoned by those you love.

I think the last 10 or so chapters being from Ame's POV make people more sympathetic to her, but remember unlike Ame's family who was just in a very unfortunate accident... Umi's mother abandoned her family on purpose and his dad made the decision (I won't get into all the talk of mental health and whether it was a truly CONSCIOUS decision or not) to end his own life. Ame was there for him... but I wonder when he said that she'll "end up unhappy with him" it was possibly festering feelings of abandonment or even him projecting what happened to his dad unto himself and fearing any romantic partner would eventually leave him. Not her fault if he projected such negative feelings onto her but a fresh start seems to be what he needed... argh it would've been easier if they'd both been able to move on in their own ways but life rarely works like that.

Still very hard for me to trust Itsuki even with the framing that Umi seems to be pulling him into the kiss in the last panel. I honestly hope that he's really not as crazy as it seems because this was obviously Ame's breaking point and it would be nice for someone to have purer feelings for him.

People dont seem to understand what Ame went trough this entire time (about 5-6 years)
She suffered a terrible accident, lost her familly, her aunt was like "this nuisance" to her, she lost one eye, lost all hope and just when she found a friend she could trust his familly break apart and she couldnt see her friend happy anymore with her.
If it wasnt enough for to fight her inner demons, she had to help her friend live. Literally if it wasnt for her, Umi wouldnt be even alive for us to read this story. She was supporting him for about 4-5 years ALONE, teaching, doing housework and working part-time all ALONE while providing emotional and financial support ALONE and if it wasnt enough, one day he tells her to fk off and decided to move ignoring her existence and efforts for 4-5 years.
If this wasnt bad enough, she lived working to pay two rents, doing two houseworks, two works adn receiving nothing while he was "making love" with another person without telling her anything. People are confusing her, she is not a yandere, she accepted that she wouldnt be with Umi after the kiss scene, she reverted back to when she was all alone, without hope, Umi could just go and live while she suffered her depression (which would be better, she could find another source of hope or learn how to live) but one call changed everything and now we are here (this is the information until chapter 19).
People tend to see things on how it is withtout understanding how it became that way, imagine suffering alone, doing everything alone, clinging to a faint hope that you would be happy if you continue doing this stuff while the other part just igonred your entire efforts and didnt treat you like the only friend that really tried to help ya. That was the break point of Ame and thats why she deservs better shit than a person that "was on depression all this time (4-7 years?)"
