No way he could be referring to his age in the first couple of pages. If he was 15 there, then why would he turn back the clock 17 years, to before he was even born?

Okay, I was worried my brain had gone smooth. So it isn't just me that couldn't understand the timeline here.

Considering she has the symbol of infinity on her, I'm going to assume:

• She died at age 316, not 316 years ago. She is some kind of un-aging/cursed being.
• He met her when he was 15, he was with her for 7 years before she died, and then 10 years he was researching magic to regress.
• So he was 32 when he regressed 17 years.
• He looks younger than 15 due to a combination of being poor/starved stunting his growth and anime syndrome where everyone looks younger than they are.

This is intriguing. I'm all for it, though how early will he be planting the seeds for change and how much time will he need to commit to training as well to get to where he needs to be.

There's a lot he will need, which makes me wonder why he opted to make a drastic alteration right off the bat and now join her.

He even says he's a child. Seeing as how this has a typical medievil/old world setting, the vast majority of these type of world settings would consider 15 to be an adult, not a child.

I'd have to take a look at the raws, but I wouldn't be surprised if all these age and time references was mistranslated, not necessarily the numbers involved, but what each of those numbers are referring to.
