It's been so long that I don't remember what's in this central plains. If the plains might contain valuable resources, wouldn't the government want to organize large mapping expeditions, instead of small groups of adventurers wandering around haphazardly by themselves? Have multiple parties fight together, and other parties set up supply and rest spots along routes. Seems like adventurers walk in one direction for 1 or 2 days, then go back.
