I don't know how yet, but if I had to bet, I'd say that Doi girl will be the trigger to make their relationship public.

Now this is the kind of stake raising tension that'll test the strength of their relationship I can get behind. Both of them having major contests coming up, and making preparations for it; with there being actual obstacles in their paths (Kase's Kouhai for her, and Yamada's group having a lack of recognition). Combine that with Yamada overworking herself in order to get a bed, and the chance that their upcoming date possibly getting cancelled due to either one of them having to go in for their club that day.

I'm actually concerned and rooting for the both of them now.

I was worried that the tourney was going to be on the same day as the neighbouring Gardening Show, but that seemed like a weaksauce source of drama. Yamada would just skip out on the Garden Show to cheer on her girlfriend.

But then I had the terrible thought: what if the tourney and the competition were on the same day?!? Now THAT would be dramatic!

Reading the end of the chapter I was overcome with dread that because they are specifying a time that date will surely be the time of the gardening competition as well and then yes it'll be dramatic but will it be good drama or will it be Kase being a terrible gf again drama? Who's to say
