Lemme guess, the party members actually feel like they are a burden to him, since he keeps on trying to protect them or such whenever they fight/stream, so they want him to go solo so everyone can see his real worth since he's always in the shadows of their stream

I suppose it would be "for his good" because they would've thought that he would continue on a supposed dangerous/painful path regardless of what they said, so making him retire this way would keep him "safe"
