I find it horribly unnatural that nobody ever seems to expressly dislike particular foods in manga unless they're very young children. And more particularly that people preparing food will just make whatever the hell they feel like on a whim and everyone automatically loves it. It is like they're not even willing to entertain the notion that people have particular food preferences most of the time, and might like some things and dislike others (whether they're willing to eat them or not). The only time food is actively rejected is when the food itself is badly prepared (in which case it is frequently purple with eyeballs, tentacles and fish-heads, or burnt black).
And don't even get me started on this notion of just dumping all the food in a communal pile and everyone just helping themselves freely, without any regard for allocated portions to ensure everyone is treated fairly. Treating food like some competition to see who can eat the most before it all runs out is just... sick and twisted.
It is just bizarre. Utterly bizarre.
... Also chicken bone soup is completely unacceptable. Can you even imagine the utter insanity of her needing eggs but walking around with dead chicken (or chicken-like monsters) in storage? Chickens are NOT for eating (and neither are suspiciously similar chicken substitutes).
